 | Alan Stopper I’ve always followed my own path, done things differently, defied expectations, and generally prospered. I’m a left-handed, vegetarian, Hindu/Buddhist/Jew. Ram Dass and Krishnamurti are among my strongest influences. I bike, hike or run virtually every day, and love the outdoor, active life here in New Mexico. In ’69 instead of going to college, I went to antiwar demonstrations, experimented with psychedelics, and hitchhiked to Mexico for months, where I lived on a legendary hippie beach called Zipolite. Later I spent a year in a Sikh yoga ashram, started my first real business doing shop-at-home picture framing, and went back to college – which I blew through in 2 years and finished summa cum laude (who’da guessed?!). I married a wonderful woman and we’ve had three fantastic sons to fill our home with noise, our weekends with soccer, and our lives with love. They’re grown now – off to college and beyond. We started a catalog business called “After the Stork”, specializing in natural fiber children’s clothing. It was fun, challenging, useful to our customers .,.. and it grew exponentially. Now I’m retired, dabbling in Costa Rican real estate, and free to contemplate life and create a website called yourlifemandala.com. |
